My half of an art trade with Grimal.

For those of you that don't know, I'm an elastic gryphon.. no not a balloonie/latex gryphon.. just incredibly stretchy and elastic. Lately I've been working on a list of pros and cons of being so elastic, and I'll post them up here as they're done.. this was the first one finished.

This is 2. I see a lot of the fanart he gets, and they all depict him ranting or screaming about something. That's all well and good, but people seem to forget that he's a musician as well, a talented one at that. So this is my tribute to his less appreciated talents. Prismacolors on Bristol.

Phenosia again.. this time she's wearing clothes. Kind of redundant on her since her feathers cover up everything anybody might want to see, and she doesn't really like covering up her plumage, but I wanted to draw her in an outfit, so nyeah. Markers this time.

Ever since I started my comic, I've been working on two ends of the artistic spectrum. On one hand, I wanted it to look good and be detailed, which can be seen in my early archives. On the other though, I wanted to give the strip a comfortable, cartoony feel which the original style didn't convey, which can be seen in some of my not-so-older strips. It didn't take me too long to realize that neither one was happening by itself, so I started bringing the two together, as can be seen in my recent archives. During my two month hiatus, I had a small artistic breakthrough, and simply must use it in my comic.

Here is the new version of Kyle Griffin and so far the pinnacle of my cartooning technique, I really like the way it turned out.

There, this description is now officially way the hell too long.

Lothoril again. After a bit of brainstorming, I finally came up with an outfit for him! He's a sorcerer of middling talent, so I wanted something wizardy, but definately not one of those stuffy robes you usually see male wizards in.. and the super-skimpy bikinni female wizards just didn't seem appropriate either, so here's the happy medium! A sorta toga/loincloth that reveals almost as much as it covers.. mm, I like 'im better already.

My computer fubared itself (watch Tango & Cash if you don't know what fubar is) the other day.. it wouldn't even boot up! I had to find other things to do all day until Gentle came home and computer wizarded it back together for me. While I didn't actually perform the side kick of kablooie on my box.. I sure felt like it.

Another Prismacolor Marker picture.. I dare think I'm getting better at them.. even if I did screw up the background (its supposed to look like that.. it just didn't work like I'd hoped it would).

Thanks for saving my computer Gentle! I was lost without it.

Ahhhh Bacardi (that's rum, for those of you that don't know). I'm hardly experienced in the ways of alcohol, but I'm around plenty of people who are! I'm starting to see what everybody sees in it (in moderation, of course).

My first piece in a LONG time using my (EXPENSIVE!) Prismacolor Markers, I was shocked and pleased at the results. In the background are various items from around the house here.. I only made up two of them.

Lately, I've discovered something of an obsession for phoenixes that I have.. they're just so.. cool. And sexy, can't forget sexy.

This was done today, starting out as a drawing exersize, but quickly progressed into a mediocre drawing.. which I then plugged into Photoshop and experimented with my coloring techniques, taking a very different approach to it this time around.. I'm VERY pleased with the results. Sure it takes a bit longer but the difference is far from marginal.

Hope. The product of a recent Drawing Circle here, we put topics in a hat and passed it around.. I drew hope.. I feel it portrays it nicely.

Unoriginal name, I know.. but hey, its a doodle that took on a life of its own, those things get cheezy names just on principal. Despite my pining for avian art, I've been somewhat slavish to drawing.. gryphons gryphons gryphons! I've been working at expanding my horizons though, and this cardinal turned out to be a rewarding exersize.

A few months ago at a beating (party/gettogether we have saturday nights.. named more for the radio show that plays during the timeframe and that we boff throughout the night than anything else), we had a spears vs. the World match. Basically Myself, 2, Delphinios and Chaser, armed with spears, said to the rest of the people there "We'll take on as many of you that care to come at us" We ended up facing at least six, maybe seven other people, all armed with their favorite weapons, while we only had spears.

It was messy, it was a struggle, but we won! Booya! The event was memorable enough for me to draw a picture of it ^.^

Its finished! Colored and done and prettied up. Inked and colored using Photoshop 6.0.. Adobe rocks.

More of the whacking each other with sticks! The boffer weapons are actually pvc pipes cleaverly padded with pipe insulation and duct tape. The weapons depicted here are quickly becoming my favorites.. twin maces!

While I don't paint, or work in any media that could be considered messy (though I do get grey fingers from pencil lead once in a while.. woe is me), the rest of it holds true. If I WERE a painter though, I'd probably be one of those guys that just slings paint at a canvas and sells it for thousands of dollars....

Hmm, maybe I should start.
